MINUTES OF THE WILTON BUDGET COMMITTEE
January 27, 2004

7:30 p.m.

1. The committee approved the FICA Budget, Workers Compensation, the Benefit Package, Insurance Budget, The W-L-T Ambulance Budget as requested, the Fire Department Budget as requested, $500.00 for Emergency Management, and the Health Care budgets.

2. The Conservation Commission Acquisition Fund was approved as requested.

3. The Heritage Commission Budget was approved at $350.00. The committee voted against a request for $1,600.00 to purchase a computer, scanner, printer for their work.

4. The Fire Department Capital requests were approved.

5. The Cemeteries Budget was approved at $29,855.

6. A need for capital outlay in the amount of $60,000 for Marden Road improvements was discussed in detail and approved. One member voted no.

7. A capital outlay request of $140,000 for Isaac Frye Highway improvements from Four Corners Farm to the Milford Town Line was discussed and approved. Additional funds will be needed to complete the project in 2005 but the amount is yet to be determined. Two members abstained.

8. The Florence Rideout Elementary School Budget and the accompanying Warrant Articles were discussed and approved.

9. The committee discussed the total projected expenses for 2004 as being down from last year by just over $1,100,000 to a projected number of $3,361,633.

10. The committee adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
