The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM
The committee discussed the pending purchase of the truck and plow for the Highway Department. Questions concerning the need for the truck and the expense involved were raised and explored. The committee has asked to review the contract before commitments are made by the Town. We agreed to review the capital budget submitted by the Highway Department last year as that document has projected expenditures and equipment needs for three years.
The committee discussed the Library Operating Budget Request. The budget was approved with one nay vote and two abstentions.
The committee decided not to discuss the Wilton Main Street Association budget request at this meeting.
The committee asked for clarification regarding a request from Home Health care and Hospice. This organization is unknown to the committee so we will try to determine if this is an organization that has replaced one we used to fund.
The following small budget requests were approved:
Milford Regional Counseling Services
$1,000.00 ($1,500.00 requested)
Bridges (Formerly Rape and Assault Counseling)
$ 750.00
Red Cross
$ 750.00
St Joseph (Meals on Wheels)
$ 455.00
The committee has yet to receive most of the major budgets so it was decide to schedule the next meeting of the committee for December 2, 2003 at 7:30 at the Town Hall.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40.
