WILTON BOARD OF CEMETERY TRUSTEES
PO Box 83     Wilton, NH 03086

Minutes of March 20, 2007
Present: All Trustees
The minutes of February 20th, 2007 were accepted.

Postings of Rules and Regulations- They are posted at the Town Office and are on the Town of Wilton website.  We need to speak with Steve Elliott, custodian of the cemeteries about posting at the cemeteries.

Possible addition to the Rules and Regulations- fees charged for opening and closing the grave.  Do the cemetery trustees or Selectmen set the fee?  Should more be charged on weekends?

Action Items- Doreece has numbered the items and will begin an update by removing finished items for a history thus showing unfinished business.  When we have requests for information on availability within purchased lots we need the cemetery name and lot number and who is listed as the owner.  Doreece will send letters to those who have inquired but have not given enough information.  This can be better checked in the spring when the snow is gone.

Mt Calvary Discussion- Jim has been in contact with Director of the Cemeteries for the Diocese, Paul Harrington, about the responsibility of the cemetery.  Rev. Father James Welsh of the Sacred Heart Parish in Wilton manages the cemetery for the church.  The church has not been billed for years of cemetery maintenance.  We are looking into how to get this corrected.  A little history- The land for the cemetery was donated by the Kennedy family for a Catholic cemetery.

Expansion at Mt Calvary- last year Steve Elliott, custodian of the cemeteries and Wilton Road Agent, had some land cleared for future expansion.  Logs were sold for the town for the cemeteries.  Mark Gibbons purchased logs with the remainder used for burning in the town barn for heat.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Town Office at 7 PM.
