If you have come from another town in New Hampshire, you should notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of your new address within 10 days. This is accomplished by filling out a change of address card and mailing it to the Concord Department of Motor Vehicle office. Drivers should also print in their new address on the registrations and drivers license.
Registration renewals are begun at the town office and can be completed there. You also have the option of completing the state portion at the Milford Motor Vehicle substation. They are open on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We do not send any reminders in the mail. Drivers must remember during their renewal month to come see us. There is no grace period on registrations. Only motor vehicle inspections are allowed a 10 day grace period following the renewal month.
Keep in mind; leased vehicles, company vehicles and vehicles registered under a Trust name may have a different renewal and inspection month than the primary drivers birth month. Further – a late renewal (done after the renewal month has gone by) is given only a 2 day period to get an auto inspection completed.
Drivers licensing renewals can be completed at the State of NH Milford Motor Vehicle License Office on Thursday and Fridays 8:30AM – 4:00PM.
Drivers aged 16 and 17 years need to have the “pink” slip completed by a parent/guardian or their insurance company before every registration is completed at the town office or at the Milford Motor Vehicle Office.
Voters can register any time at the town office. Voter registration can also be done at the polls on Election day. All elections are held at the Town Hall. Town elections are held 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. State and Federal elections are held 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Absentee ballots are available to registered voters. Please ask for more details.
Dogs are required to be licensed by April 30th every year. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Cats do not need to be licensed!
Trash: Wilton is one of the first towns in the country to require mandatory recycling. A detailed flyer is available at the Recycling Center or at the Town Hall.
