WILTON HERITAGE COMMISSION

MINUTES FOR SEPT. 27, 2005

The meeting was called to order on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 at 7:30 pm at the Wilton Public Library.  Present were Stanley Young, Michael Dell'Orto, Gail Hoar and Nancy Clark.

The minutes were read and approved.

The Treasurer reported a balance of $973. 87.  To date, some 50-plus house plaques have been purchased.  Anticipating the delivery of the
large Wilton Center and Russell Hill Bridge signs in the next few weeks, Michael is now working on the text for the  Town Pound.

Stanley has not heard further from the Conservation Commission on the matter of the natural resource inventory project.

The Heritage Commission received with regret Bob Chouinard's letter of resignation from the Commission.  The letter will be submitted to the Selectmen.

The meeting adjourned to the Historic Rooms for a demonstration and instruction in the document scanning project.  So far, Michael has scanned about half of the 160 Revolutionary War era Warrant Articles, and more workers would be welcome to assist in this.  Another artifact of interest to be scanned is a bound book dating from 1839 in which copies of significant town documents were copied out by hand including the original town charter and minutes of town meetings.

The meeting adjourned at 8:40 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Nancy Clark, Secretary
