HERITAGE COMMISSION

Public Notice, town of Wilton Heritage Commission, Feb. 22, 2005

The Wilton Heritage commission has voted to amend its by-laws, specifically regarding the election of Officers of the Commission, to eliminate a clause limiting officers to only two consecutive terms.  This change is proposed because there has been a difficulty in finding other members of the commission who are available and willing to assume the duties of the various offices.  The change to the by-laws is printed below:

Section 2: Officers

a.  The Commission shall elect the following officers: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Election of
Officers shall be held at the January meeting of the Commission; officers will be elected for a term of 1 year.
A Member may hold an office for no more than two successive terms.  An Alternate may not hold office.
However, the Secretary of the Chair may designate an Alternate to take the minutes at a meeting should the
    Secretary be unable to attend.

The struck-out sentence is the only change.  Any citizen of the town of Wilton wishing to comment on or have input into this change may do so by attending the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission, which meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Library, or by sending an e-mail to Michael Dell’Orto at mdell@jlc.net .
