Date: February 23, 2004
Time: 7:00 pm
Place: Town Office
Present: Selectmen Stuart Draper, Chair. and Robert MacFarland
And Recording Secretary Peggy Arn
1) Hal Melcher attended the meeting to ask the Board if they would be
in favor of having a “Meet the Candidate” evening before the coming town
election. He expressed the concern that people do not know the people
running this year. Both Selectmen said that they would be in favor
of it and asked Hal if he would be in charge of setting it up. He
stated that he would do his best given the time constraints.
2) Lynne Draper and Stanley Young attended the meeting to discuss closing
for the purchase of the Four Corners Farm Easement. Ms. Draper explained
how the funds were made available and discussed necessary documents.
(copy in town office) The town will be responsible for producing
a check for the purchase price, to cover the donated funds.
3) Health Officer, Ingrid Howard and Building Inspector Bill Condra
attended the meeting to discuss two houses that the Board has received
numerous complaints on.
After a review of several RSA that would apply to the condition of
the houses and ideas of how to handle the situation, it was agreed that
Attorney Little would be contacted. We will ask him to help us compose
a letter to be sent to these people telling them that they have to clean
up their property. If they do not comply in the time given them,
legal action will have to be taken.
4) The Board then reviewed the bills and payroll for the week ending
February 21, 2004 and approved them.
5) The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
The Board reviewed and signed 1 Intent to Excavate, 2 Intents to Cut Timber,
1 application for Current Use, 1 Veteran’s Exemption and 1 Elderly Exemption
Application.
6) Two issues were held over until next week so that a full Board vote
can be taken. One being the appointment of a Selectmen to the Ambulance
Board and issuing a No-Profit Status to a property.
The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 9:30, with all in favor.
Respectfully submitted;
Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
