Present: Selectmen Jerry Greene, Robert MacFarland and Daniel Donovan,

Police Chief Hautanen, Recording Secretary Peggy Arn and Charles McGettigan
Chairman Jerry Greene called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 pm.
The first order of business is to review and discuss a petition to lay
out a Class V highway over an existing Class VI highway, NH RSA 321:8.
This highway is a portion of Old Country Farm Road that is approximately
2/10 of a mile. This would be a reclassification only without any
upgrades and there will be a turnaround for town vehicles. This portion
of the road begins at the northerly terminus of the existing Class V portion
of Old Country Farm Road at the southwest corner of land being Map C-7-1
and continuing in the northerly direction approximately 1,476 feet to a
point being the northwest corner of Tax Map C-7-2. This portion of
road is in front of property owned by Heidi Heller-Blackmer.
When asked if anyone had comments, Mr. McGettigan called to attention the fact that the road name had not been included on the Notice of Public Hearing. He was assured that it was an oversight. He also suggested that the petitioner should have been at the meeting but Chairman Greene stated that it was not a requirement.
The next issue to be discussed was the acceptance by the town of two grants that Police Chief Hautanen had applied for. One grant being for Route 101 Speed Enforcement overtime patrols and one being for DWI overtime patrols. These two grants are being given by the NH Highway Safety Agency. The grants will be for 60 hours by each officer and will be reimbursed at an overtime rate of pay. There was no public comment.
After discussion, Selectman Donovan made the following motion:
A portion of Old Country Farm Road, 2/10 of a mile and location as described above, be reclassified from a class IV road to a class V road.
Selectman MacFarland seconded the motion; which passed unanimously.
Selectman MacFarland made the following motion:
The Town of Wilton accept the two grants from the NH Highway Safety Agency for the purpose of Speed Enforcement overtime patrols on route 101 and DWI overtime patrols on 101 & route 31. These grants would cover 60 overtime hours for each officer and will be completed by September 2004.
Selectman Donovan seconded the motion; which passed unanimously.
The Public Hearing was adjourned on a motion at 7:15 pm.
Respectfully submitted;
Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
