And Recording Secretary Peggy Arn
1) Road Agent Steve Elliott attended the meeting to inform the Board
that one of the sanders that the Highway Department has used for 15 to
20 years has fallen apart. The entire bottom section has disintegrated.
Steve explained that he did not feel it would be cost effective to repair
the sander and estimates that a new one would cost around $8,000.
When the Board asked if he could operate with one less sander, he stated
that he could split the plow routes but he feels that he does need to replace
the old one. The Board agreed that Selectman Greene and Steve would
ask the Budget Committee’s opinion the next meeting, which would be the
next day.
2) Maurice Guay gave the Board his schedule of fees for the Recycling
Center. The fees were discussed and Maurice explained why he feels
some items should be increased. Mr. Greene stated that a meeting
will be set up with the member towns to discuss this and other Recycling
issues.
3) Chief Hautanen attended the meeting. He informed the Board
that he had gotten two quotes for the impound fencing. A discussion
ensued as to his idea of how to give an employee compensation for not using
sick time. No decision was made at this time.
4) At 7:30 Chairman Greene closed the regular meeting on a motion and
a Non-Public Session was called per RSA 91-A:3,II(a).
5) The regular meeting was called to order at 7:45.
6) The Board reviewed a complaint received from a concerned resident
about the living conditions of a house located next to hers on Pleasant
Street. The Board asked that the Building Inspector look into the
complaint.
7) The Board reviewed and signed a new Mortgage Deed for York River’s
new road.
8) The bills and payroll for the week ending January 15, 2005 were
reviewed and signed.
9) The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm on a motion.
Respectfully submitted;
Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
