1) Cemetery Trustees Maureen Donovan and Doreece Miller attended the meeting to ask the Board about giving permission to visit town cemeteries. The Board agreed that if the Cemetery Trustees were approached for permission to visit cemeteries after dark, they had of the Board of Selectmen’s approval to grant permission.
2) Doreece informed the Board that they were in the process of getting a copy of the cemetery mapping program to have at the town office and that Jim Nelson has a person that is experienced with the program that is willing to help update the program.
3) The Board reviewed a letter of recommendation from Town Assessor Todd Haywood in reference to proposal from Label Art in their request for a property tax abatement for 2005. After discussing the issue, Selectman Richard Rockwood made the following motion:
The Town of Wilton will accept an offer of assessment for Label Art in the amount of $1,650,000 for 2005 with the agreement that they will drop their appeal. There will be no interest or tax refund to Label Art on payment made for 2005 taxes.
Selectman Donovan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
4) Charles McGettigan attended the meeting and asked the Board if they planned to replace the King Brook Road over King Brook. Discussion ensued.
5) The Board reviewed the MS1 report, approved and signed it. Peggy will deliver the report to the Department of Revenue tomorrow.
6) The bills and payroll for the week ending October 28, 2006 were reviewed and approved.
7) Correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 8:15 pm.
