1) The bills and the payroll for the week ending February 17, 2007 were reviewed and approved.
2) The Board reviewed and signed one Veteran’s Exemption Application. The week’s correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
3) Chairman Donovan called the Public Hearing to order to hear comments on putting a crosswalk from Barry Court to the sidewalk across the street on Burns Hill Road and to amend three parking street parking issues.
4) The first issue to be discussed was the issue of parking on Maple Street. There presently is “No Parking” between on Maple Street between Prince and Russell Streets. There is only one sign stating “No Parking” on one side. Comments from the public voiced concerns for people attending church functions would have no place to park if the no parking was enforced all the time. After a discussion, the Board agreed that “No Parking” sign will state except on weekends. The church could also notify the Police Department when special functions are to be held and the no parking would not be enforced at these times.
5) The Public Hearing was closed at 7:50pm.
6) The Board approved a crosswalk from Barry Court to the Sidewalk on Burns Hill. Road.
7) Schedule III (One-Way Streets) was amended to say that Tremont Street from Livermore Street to Park Street is a one-way street.
8) Article III will reflect all-night parking to be the hours between 12:00 midnight to 6:00 AM for prohibited on-street parking.
9) Chief Hautanen asked the Board for their approval of a candidate that he would like to hire for part-time employment on the Wilton Police Department. The Board approved his request.
10) Warrant articles were discussed and it was agreed that the Fire Department’s article should be broken down into separate articles for specific equipment.
11) The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 8:35, with all in favor.
