TOWN OF WILTON
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES

Date:  January 19, 2009
Time:  6:30 PM
Place:  Town Office
Present: Chairman Richard Rockwood, Selectmen Daniel Donovan III, William Condra, and Selectmen’s Assistant Pam Atwood

1. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM.
2. Dion Lewis, WLC School Board member attended the meeting to discuss the School District Consolidation.  Mr. Lewis informed the Selectmen that the School Board has accepted the modified articles drafted by the Consolidation Committee.  Chairman Rockwood voiced his opinion that he had hoped they would say “no”.  He is concerned with Wilton.  Chairman Rockwood asked Mr. Lewis if Wilton really needs an SAU.  Chairman Rockwood suggested that each school should hire a Principal and an Administrative Assistant who would perform the administrative functions, and not have the SAU.  Mr. Lewis explained the function of the SAU and spoke of the duties of the SAU personnel.  Discussion ensued.  Selectman Donovan suggested abolishing the SAU and having Lyndeborough pay tuition for their students.  Mr. Lewis had handouts of the modified set of articles and frequently asked questions.  There was more discussion on the issue with Mr. Lewis ending by asking the Selectmen for their opinions on the consolidation.
3. At 7:35 PM Chairman Rockwood called for a non-public session per RSA 91-A3, II (c). A roll call vote with all in favor was made.
4. Chairman Rockwood called the regular meeting back to order at 7:53 PM.
5. Chairman Rockwood asked that we get a copy of the letter that Fire Chief Dick sent to PSNH.
6. Chairman Rockwood told the Board that he has placed a call to Energy North but has not yet heard back.
7. The payroll and bills for week ending January 17, 2009 were reviewed and approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 PM with all in favor.
