TOWN OF WILTON
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES

Date:  March 16, 2009
Time:  6:30 pm
Place:  Town Office
Present: Selectmen Daniel Donovan, III, Richard Rockwood and William Condra and  Recording Secretary Peggy Arn

1) Chairman Richard Rockwood called the meeting to order.
MOTION:  Mr. Rockwood made a motion that Selectman Daniel Donovan be appointed Chairman of the Selectmen for this year.  Selectman Condra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
2) Chairman Donovan then made a motion that the regular meeting be adjourned and a non public session called per RSA 91-A:3,II©.  The motion was seconded and passed with all in favor.
3) The regular session was called to order at 7:25.
4) The contract with Waste Management was signed and will be for the next three years.
5) A letter in response to DES findings at the Recycling Center was signed.
6) MOTION:  Selectman Rockwood made a motion that Carol Roberts be appointed to the Zoning Board for another three year term.  The motion was seconded by Selectman Donovan and passed unanimously.
7) The Board discussed a request for permission from Asplundh to cut some trees around a new utility pole that was installed on the corner of Burns Hill and Pellerin Street.  Mr. Rockwood is going to look at them to make sure no large trees are cut.
8) The Board reviewed a request from Colby Street Realty to met with the Board to discuss the status of the property on Forest Road.  They would like to discuss the possibility of re-occupying 10 of the units with a timetable established to correct the deficiencies that caused the property to be condemned.  The Board agreed to the meeting with the stipulation that the Town Attorney, Building Inspector and the Health Officer be present at the meeting.
9) The Board reviewed a request for a disabled exemption with the conclusion that the town does not have this exemption and the person who applied will be notified as such.
10) Selectman Rockwood made a motion that the following persons be appointed for a year:

    Chief of Police    Brent Hautanen
    Highway Agent    Steven Elliott
    Recycling Manager   Maurice Guay
    Building Inspector    Keith Carman
    Health Officer    Rise Smythe-Freed
    Fire Chief     Raymond Dick
The motion was seconded by Selectman Condra.  The vote was 2 yea and 1 nay.  Motion carried.
11) The issue of what committees the Board Members will attend was discussed and agreed upon as follows:
    Planning Board   William Condra
    Budget Committee  Richard Rockwood
    Recycling   Daniel Donovan
    Ambulance   Daniel Donovan
    Heritage   Daniel Donovan
12) Mr. Rockwood asked Mr. Condra if he would take over the Emergency Services Committee and the work with the Architect and he agreed to do so.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 8:00 pm., with all in favor.
