TOWN OF WILTON
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES

Date:  December 28, 2009
Time:  6:30 pm
Place:  Town Office
Present: Selectmen Daniel Donovan, III, William Condra and Richard Rockwood and Recording Secretary Peggy Arn

Maurice Guay attended the meeting to inform the Board that a representative from DES visited the Recycling Center to make recommendations to clean up the Recycling Center.  He stated that he would like to dispose of old materials that had been accumulating for years and asked if the Board had any problem with his doing so.  The Board did not have any problem with it.

Charles McGettigan and James Tuttle attended the meeting to discuss the response by the Water Commissioners and Board of Selectmen to DES on the letters of deficiencies at the Old Wilton Reservoir.  The letter as drafted by Selectman Rockwood and Charles McGettigan was reviewed by Attorney Little.  Attorney Little suggested a few additions addressing the way the dam will be monitored, which was done.  The letter outlined an interim solution of monitoring the dam and the drafting of a warrant article to support the hiring of a consultant to survey and analyze what needs to be done to the dam.  The letter stated that the removal of shrubs and trees has already been started.  The dam will be kept drained until it is determined if it will be used in the future.
After a discussion, the Board of Selectmen agreed to sign the letter but Mr. Tuttle refused to sign.  He stated that he was not in agreement with some of the language used.  Discussion ensued as to the cutting of trees around the dam, both the old and new reservoir.

The bills and payroll for the week ending December 26, 2009 were reviewed and approved.

The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 7:30, with all in favor.

Respectfully submitted;

Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
