The Wilton Conservation Commission held a regular meeting on Monday, 10 December 2007, at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall Courtroom.Alan, Bart, Lynne, Spencer and Bill Mahar were at the meeting. A number of items in this report were agreed on by consensus.Any measure where a vote was taken is noted by standard motion procedures.
Minutes of November 12 and 26 were adjusted and approved.
The WCC recognizes the death of Phillip Heald and his contribution as a long time member of Commission and a major contributor of land known as the Heald Track to the Society for the Protection of NH.
Discussion items and any actions taken on the Agenda were as follows:
Bill Mahar has agreed to be a member of WCC and members approved that Lynne contact the selectmen to proceed with the appointment.
Provost Proposal for a drop culvert on a major wetland needs to be redesigned to allow not isolates the populations of critters in the upper wetland.Email to town committees and wetland bureau will be drafted and sent by Lynne and Spencer.
Budget Committee: Questions the source of funding of the NRI.Peggy and Spencer found that it was part of the operating budget and not a special warrant article. NRI is under contract and is considered incumbent funds.Exact total for Frog Pond should be resolved after a meeting with Spencer & Steve Elliott.
ZBA and Planning Board agenda and activities were discussed.
Open Lands: Lynne typed the letters and Laurence has sent out the letters with book to large landowners.
FarmLand Easement: Lynne read an email from George Cleek of NRCS, State Conservationist.This seriously affects the progress of the easement.
McGettigan Easement: We are in agreement to hold a public hearing for expenditures from the Conservation Acquisition Fund of $40,000 and to accept an Executory interest in the Easement on the Dorothy S. McGettigan Revocable Trust property.Dec 21 @ 7PM will be a public hearing on the matter.Notice was posted tonight.
