Jim Tuttle called the meeting to order at 7:50 p.m.
Minutes August 24, 2004
MOTION: Mr. McGettigan moved to approve the 10/27/04 minutes as written.
Mr. Tuttle
seconded the motion and all were in favor.
Everett Pump: Because of the nightmare the Commissioners had
getting the pump repaired, at Prescott, Mr. McGettigan will contact Stonchus
Hydraulics & AAA Pump to see if they can service
the type of pump in the Everett Well. He will also ask Lennie White
for suggestions.
2nd River Crossing Progress: Mr. Tuttle will speak again
with Norm Harris of Guilford Directional Drilling and try and get a ballpark
bid for 101 crossing, possibly to be done this early winter.
Abandoned Cars on Davidson Land: The Commissioners have
asked Mike Davidson, a number of times, to remove the half dozen abandoned
cars at the old trailer site. They are located in the recharge area of
the Everett Well, very close to the new test wells, on the upstream side
of the well. Because of the potential for leaking gasoline, motor oil,
anti freeze, & transmission fluid the cars are posing a hazard to the
drinking water of Wilton. Mr. McGettigan will contact Tom Quinn and ask
him to get this resolved ASAP. He will also ask Mr. Quinn to provide the
Commissioners with a final copy of the Quinn/Davidson Gravel Operation
plan approved by the Planning Board.
Backflow Preventer Testing: Mr. McGettigan will again
reschedule Porter Plumbing to replace two devices at Label Art and the
broken ball valve at Souhegan Mill and also the job at Sam Proctors.
Mike Putnam may be able to do the Proctor job as may Mark at Milford Plumbing.
Jan Wrona will do the 2005 Backflow Preventer Testing. He will also bring
in all of his 2004 reports and make a set of copies for the Commissioners
and a set of copies for the clerk for the files. Mr. Herlihy will design
the failure notice that will be mailed along with a copy of the inspection
report to any water user with a failure. The water user will be billed
for the initial inspection and again for the inspection after the repair
has been done.
NHDES Water Source Protection Grant Application: Mr. Herlihy
reported that he wrote the cover letter that accompanied the grant application
that was submitted November 22.
Route 31 Low Salt Use: Mr. Herlihy reported that he wrote a
letter to the NHDOT in Swanzey, NH, requesting assisting in establishing
a no or low salt area on NH Route 31 South near the Town wells.
MOTION: Mr. Herlihy moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. McGettigan
with all in favor.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
